Leslie McKee is a Christian artist and worship leader who shares a message of redemption, restoration, and relationship woven through songs and stories from her heart and life. She has been a roster artist with Creative Soul Records since releasing her debut EP, True to You, in 2009. Her single, What Love Looks Like, was produced by Grammy award-winning producer, Phil Naish, and was included on the 2013 We Are Creative Soul project celebrating the 15th anniversary of Creative Soul Records. She released a Christmas single, Jesus Born on This Day, in December 2016, which is included on another Creative Soul Records compilation project, Timeless Christmas.
In April of 2017, Leslie released her first full-length album, Another Mile, which is a collaborative work with some of Nashville’s finest players, producers, and writers. Leslie’s vocals soar to new heights to deliver a mix of pop-infused tunes and powerful ballads which are sure to become favorites of fans both old and new and will have you singing along.
“Another Mile is the culmination of the many miles traveled to work on this project and the many places my heart has journeyed over the past few years. My desire is that my life experiences will be used as a platform to shine the light of Jesus into the dark places…that the songs on this album will offer hope to the broken in spirit and will encourage those who are weary to keep holding on.”
While you’ll hear a different side to her artistically on the new album, what hasn’t changed is her desire to share the love of Jesus with those around her. Leslie doesn’t shy away from talking about real life and hopes that by doing so, others will know they are not alone in their struggles.
“Life has a way of coming at us…sometimes good, and sometimes hard. In those hard times, it may take all we have to get up in the morning and will ourselves to breathe. We need something or someone to hold on to, and that something is HOPE and is found in the person of Jesus Christ. There have been many times when I’ve felt like giving up, but I’ve come out on the other side alive and full of hope. I want to be able to encourage others to hold on!”
Following the release of “Another Mile”, Leslie appeared as a guest on the Cornerstone Television Network in Pittsburgh, PA and on WATC TV 57 in Atlanta, GA. She also had interviews published in several online magazines, including Faith Filled Family magazine, Hallels, and Leading Hearts for Christian Women. New Release Today interviewed Leslie for the “Behind the Song with Kevin Davis” devotional series and printed a devotional based on thoughts from the song “Another Mile”. “What You’re Made Of” was the first single released to radio, and it debuted at #1 on the Christian Radio Chart.
Leslie’s latest recording was her second Christmas single, which released in December 2018. “Still, Still, Still”, a traditional Austrian carol which dates back to the early 1800s, is a Christmas lullaby with lush vocals accompanied by a beautifully orchestrated track.
In addition to having an active concert ministry, Leslie is a respected worship leader. She has served in church music ministry in different capacities for over 25 years and has focused on worship leadership for the past 15 years. Her passion and sensitivity to the Spirit are evident through the worship times she plans and leads. She also enjoys encouraging others in their gifting and offers private voice and piano instruction from her home in Chambersburg, where she resides with her husband Dave, and sons Nate and Ben. Leslie also has daughter, Sarah, who lives in Nashville with her husband, Jacob.
Leslie would love to travel many more miles to share her songs and testimony in concert or to provide worship leadership for your church service, festival, special event, retreat, conference, or to provide a ministry weekend.
